TRUST Insurance Cyprus, held the 2nd annual event of distribution of individual breathalyser devices on Thursday 31\/8\/2023 in all cities of Cyprus in the framework of the Company's social contribution initiative \"A Breathalyser Device in Every Vehicle\".<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The initiative took place in cooperation with the Road Safety Council and was held under the auspices of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafiades, while the Parliamentary Committee on Transport, through the presence of its chairman, Mr. Marinos Mousiouttas.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Mr. Vafiadis was at the information and distribution desk of the alcohol self-test devices in Nicosia, specifically on Ermou Street, where he spoke to the media and stressed the significance, the value and the importance of every effort to develop road awareness and especially advocating against driving under the influence of alcohol. He also praised TRUST's initiative which actively contributes to the fight for reduced fatal accidents on the streets.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Communications and Works who also attended the event, for his part, welcomed the stance of the Minister of Transport, and like Mr.Vafiadis, Mr.Marinos Mousiuttas stated that the Committee is at the disposal of TRUST to achieve the common goal of saving human life that is so unjustly lost on the streets.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Representing the Road Safety Council, Mr Alexis Demetriou, road safety ambassador, stressed in a very clear way how important the individual breathalyser is as a tool in the hands of every driver and passenger in a vehicle, so that human lives can be saved. He thanked TRUST for the pioneering initiative it has undertaken and urged everyone to embrace it and make the most of it. And Michalis Pavlidis, one of the co-founders of the NGO \"Yparho\" for people with disabilities, also a road safety ambassador of the Road Safety Council, was at TRUST's side in Limassol, informing the public about the consequences of traffic collisions.<\/p>\n

On behalf of TRUST, the CEO of the Company, Mr. Christos Christodoulou, thanked all the institutions that joined in the efforts to develop road awareness and create a new road culture in the context of the adoption of a habit that really saves lives, while he pledged that TRUST not only does not intend to stop its efforts but will intensify them for the benefit of society.<\/p>\n

The 2nd annual event for the distribution of individual breathalysers was also held thanks to the kind contribution of the Municipalities of Nicosia, Larnaca, Paphos and Paralimni, and the Cyprus Ports Authority who provided locations within their jurisdiction (Ermou Street in Nicosia, the Old Port in Limassol, Mackenzie pedestrian street in Larnaca, Paphos Harbour and Protaras Avenue in Paralimni) for setting up the information and distribution stations.<\/p>\n

Through the initiative \"An Alcohol Test Device In Every Vehicle\", TRUST Insurance Cyprus aims to strengthen efforts to develop road awareness and culture, promoting self-control as a responsible act that saves lives.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Company's vision is that in the long term, every vehicle will be equipped with an individual breathalyser, which will be available to the driver at all times. The device allows drivers to demonstrate that they can get behind the wheel safely for themselves, their passengers and those around them.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The devices in question are of latest technology with all necessary certificates, reusable and have multiple reusable mouthpieces so everyone can have the chance to incorporate it in their driving routine, just like the seatbelt and the helmet.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

TRUST Insurance Cyprus will continue to distribute personal devices on an annual basis, while informing the public about any interim actions through its corporate social media.<\/p>\n
