Data Engineer

Detailed Duties

Data Warehouse Development

Design, implement, and maintain a centralized data warehouse that integrates multiple databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
Develop and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure seamless data flow from source systems to the data warehouse.

Data Integration and Connectivity

Establish and manage connections between the data warehouse and various database applications, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
Implement data validation and cleansing procedures to maintain high data quality.

Data Pipeline Engineering

Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python or Java to automate data processing tasks.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure efficient and uninterrupted data flow.

Collaboration and Support

Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to define data requirements and provide support for data-driven decision-making.
Document data architecture, ETL processes, and workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Performance Optimization

Optimize database operations and query performance to ensure fast and reliable access to data.
Implement data governance protocols to secure sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Requirements

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related fields.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Strong programming skills in Python or Java.
Experience in designing and managing ETL pipelines.
Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices.

Additional Skills:

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, with fluency in both Greek and English.
