Trust International Insurance Company (Cyprus) Ltd, a double certified Platinum employer by the International Organization Investors in People (2017 & 2020) and winner of the Global Platinum Employer of the Year Award (2017), is seeking to recruit a creative, passionate and well-rounded Software Developer to join our growing development team for our industry web-based core insurance platform and many in-house projects. The candidates will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and also be eager and willing to suggest new efficient enhancements to products or programming designs. Ability to think outside the box to improve existing processes, introduce automations.
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Build usable and user-friendly interfaces for company’s web applications
- Solve performance problems and architectural challenges
- Integration of data storage solutions such as Oracle, MySQL
- Managing back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users
- Managing database schemas that represent and support business processes
- Analyze business needs and derive software specifications
- Configure existing systems via scripting
- Support & train the stakeholders in efficient utilization of software
- Write documentation
- Communication with software vendors
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION: BSc in Computer Science or related field
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks such as Laravel
- Knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming
- Knowledge of MVC design pattern
- Knowledge of REST APIs
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
- Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
EXPERIENCE (Will be considered as an advantage):
- Insurance systems related field of expertise (front-end / back-end)
- Insurance Principles certification/knowledge
- SAP Business Intelligence
- Data Analytics
- 2+ years’ experience in software and web development with PHP Laravel
