The Cyprus Police and Trust Insurance Cyprus, following the recent signing of the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation, announced today at a press conference their joint action plan – a comprehensive set of actions that comes to enhance the already high level of security offered by the Police in Cyprus. In a country that remains among Europe's safest destinations, the two organizations are joining forces to bring new, modern and practical solutions to neighborhoods and communities.
The main pillars of the action plan include:
- information and citizen activation campaigns,
- strengthening and promoting the institution of the "Neighborhood Policeman",
- the action "Light in the Neighborhoods" for safer and brighter streets,
- upgrading parks and public spaces with modern infrastructure,
- and the presentation of SAFEZONE CY – a digital tool that brings smart alerts, useful information and a direct Citizen – Police connection.
The action plan is designed to complement and enhance the work of the Police, offering the citizen even greater transparency, immediate information and a safer daily experience.
"The memorandum of cooperation we signed a few days ago marks a new era of cooperation. With today's presentation of the action plan, we are taking the next step: we are strengthening the already proven work of the Police with new ideas, technology and investments. Our goal is for the citizen to feel even safer and more connected to his neighborhood," said Mr. Christos Christodoulou, First Executive Director of Trust Insurance Cyprus, in his speech.
For his part, the Chief of the Cyprus Police, Mr. Arnaoutis, stressed that today's announcement of the joint Action Plan is another important step towards strengthening our relationship with society. The partnership with Trust Insurance Cyprus proves in practice how much we can achieve when the public and private sectors join forces in the name of the citizen.
With significant investments by Trust Insurance Cyprus and the continuous upgrading of Police services, this partnership aspires to add even more safety, brightness and confidence to Cyprus' neighborhoods — honoring the values of hospitality and traditional sense of security that characterize Cypriot society.
