Duties and Responsibilities
  • Investigating, assessing and handling legal claims, including claims involving bodily injury and property damage.
  • Assessing liability, the extent of the loss or damage, and the Company’s exposure in relation to each claim.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal opinions on matters relating to liability, insurance coverage, the amount of compensation and the legal management of claims.
  • Preparing and submitting well-documented written recommendations to the Claims Department regarding the handling and settlement of claims.
  • Managing and monitoring the progress of legal cases and keeping the Claims Department informed.
  • Assessing and regularly reviewing claims reserves based on the progress and circumstances of each case.
  • Communicating and cooperating with lawyers, insurance companies, customers, business partners and third parties.
  • Negotiating and settling claims with claimants, lawyers and other parties involved, within the established limits of authority.
  • Ensuring that claims are accurately and promptly recorded and updated in the Company’s system.
  • Coordinating and monitoring cases assigned to external lawyers and assessing their progress.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Company’s internal policies and the applicable legal provisions governing accident claims and compensation.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Law.
  • A licence to practise as a lawyer.
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar position and/or in a law firm, preferably with expertise in accident claims and compensation.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development in the fields of law and insurance.
  • Strong organisational, administrative, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Previous experience in the insurance sector will be considered an additional advantage.
 
€30,000–€36,000 per annum.
