An engineer in Cyprus can opt for a well-rounded insurance pack that may include professional liability insurance policies, business insurance, general liability insurance, workers’ compensation insurance, commercial property insurance, and more. The type of insurance suitable for your case depends on many factors, such as whether you are an independent contractor or part of a big engineering firm.
What type of liability do engineers most suffer from?
Engineers usually suffer from claims due to malpractice or negligence while they are doing their job. The fact that their work involves technical details means there is always a chance for a small error to occur, which unfortunately can have really expensive consequences.
What is negligence in engineering?
Negligence in engineering means that the engineer failed to deliver the project right or on time, or the structure they made is found to be unsafe for people. In general, professional malpractice means that the professional did not show the care, knowledge and judgment required for the protection of the rest of the community.
