Emotional intelligence, or intelligence of the heart, represents a new concept of success and a great life plan. It is the main characteristic of people who excel in the social realm, build healthy interpersonal relationships, and succeed in the workplace. It is the stamp of quality that marks the progress of the human species. Most importantly, emotional education nourishes and empowers people, equipping them with the skills they need to cope with any potential problem.
The smart dumb
A title that I stole from the chapter of Dr. Goleman's book, where he tells the story of a man with a high IQ, but with one failure to succeed the other. This man has never been able to use his intelligence to lead a good life. And the reason; he lacked other things beyond his mind. All of the "other" things are translated into emotional intelligence!
I urge you to learn more by reading the book so that you can develop and benefit of it though your everyday life. Dr Daniel Goleman's book is such a great start! Ask for it titled "Emotional Intelligence"
